India's deep tech sector is witnessing a significant transformation, propelled by a surge in funding and strategic partnerships. Notably, ideaForge, a leading drone technology company, raised ₹500 crore through a qualified institutional placement (QIP), highlighting investor confidence in the sector. This funding comes at a time when the global space race is intensifying, with countries vying for leadership in satellite technology and space exploration.
The Indian government has also been proactive in fostering this ecosystem, with initiatives aimed at boosting research and development in space technology. The recent success of startups like Genrobotics, which reported a profit of ₹2.6 crore in FY26, underscores the potential for innovation in robotics and automation that can complement India's ambitions in space.
Moreover, the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) continues to play a pivotal role, not only in launching satellites but also in collaborating with private players to enhance capabilities in satellite manufacturing and deployment. This collaboration is crucial as India aims to increase its share in the global satellite market, currently dominated by established players like the US and China.
