Bengaluru Water Board Embraces AI to Combat Water Theft

Bengaluru's water woes are set to face a high-tech overhaul as the Bangalore Water Supply and Sewerage Board (BWSSB) adopts artificial intelligence and robotics to tackle pervasive issues of water theft and leakage. This initiative, funded entirely by a grant from Titan Company Limited, will see startups SmartTerra and Solinas deploy cutting-edge technologies to identify vulnerabilities in the city's water distribution network. The pilot study aims to significantly reduce non-revenue water losses, which have long plagued urban utilities.

SmartTerra will utilize AI-driven predictive analytics to pinpoint at-risk pipeline segments, while Solinas will employ robotic inspections to uncover hidden leaks and structural defects.
